Default Installing new Shocks, Have Question:

With respect to the rear shocks, will I have to compress the shocks (ZIP tye method) in order to install them?

Thanks!

Finally finished her up today, just had to show off my "senior shock compressor". Also note the Harbor Freight 24"/175lb. zip ties. At 10 for $1.89 they made life a little easier too. Suckers fought me the whole way. Glad it's done, big improvement.

nice.....my senior shock compressor is above my belt......I just leined into them....and they begged for mercy....how lucky were you compressing them in the car to take them out? ...my back still hurts and it was 3-4 weeks ago

Not bad. I have a runway-style lift so I could raise and lower the whole operation as needed to get a good angle. I cranked the lower control arm all the way up to compress the old shock, rigged up the zip ties, dropped the control arm and started wrestling until she gave it up.
