Heat socks

Hi all, recently installed headers on the vette and I think it needs a set of heat socks to keep plug wires safe.
1. Can they be installed on pre-made wires?
2. Does anyone utilize them?
3. Best kind to get

DEI makes some excellent heat defeating products for our automobiles, including spark plug boot guards.

JEGS carries a variety of them at excellent prices, in different colors as well.

I don't have headers, but I did install some DEI titanium boots over my MSD wires. They are very flexible and can handle extreme temps.

It really depends on the headers. I have coated LG's with GMPP wires and Taylor socks. Plug boots are unavoidably touching and melting through the socks. If you have an air gap, any of the above mentioned socks will work. Otherwise you may need a plug wire with a different boot angle to avoid touching the headers.
