Z06 reverse lockout issue. The opposite problem......
So guys maybe someone can help here.
I had my box rebuilt. I've just got it running again and it looks like the reverse gear lockout isn't working. So I can go into reverse from 4th gear. Not good.
I've pulled the solenoid and plunger assembly and it's all there and working as intended.
I put some engineers blue on the plunger and shifted into reverse a few times with the ignition off(So the lockout should be active). No witness marks in the plunger.
I can see inside the inspection cover and I assume the lockout plunger is supposed to bear on a shift lever or suchlike?
Q - anyone had this issue before? Anyone got a picture or explanation of how the lockout works inside the box?
With the plunger body removed I can see into the cover housing. With my long suffering wife shifting gears (!) I can see an arm moving but at no point does it move far enough to the front of the box to engage with the reverse lockout plunger.
I can see this piece is pinned to a slider shaft.
is it possible to fit this piece backwards? And still have the gearbox shifting ok otherwise.
Actually thinking about it some more the 5th/6th plane of the shifter feels much closer to the 3rd/4th plane than i remember as well. It's really difficult to find 5th going from 4th.......does this this suggest a total FU in box rebuild???
