Default AC stopped working

My 1999's ac has stopped blowing cold air. How do I troubleshoot this problem?

First thing is to go to auto parts store or wherever and get a can of R134 refrigerant with the attached gauge. After reading instructions, hook it up to A/C lines(it can only hook up one way) and fill system as directed. Unless you have a leak that should do the trick.

closed system so a leak would be the only way he would be low or out of freon

that being said, by not working do you mean not blowing cold air and blowing hot air, not blowing at all, only blowing cold on one side???

Run a diagnostic and see what you car is telling you. Read the article, test and report back

FTFY.

Diagnostics should be your first step. If the system is already full, you don't want to add more 134A.

Wouldn't the gauge tell you if it was full or not? Last year mine quit blowing cold air so I got a can of R134 at an Auto Zone with the attached gauge and checked the charge. It was low so I added until it read where it was supposed to. No more problems. Still works fine this year.
