My problem is after about an hour or so running in the 90+ weather with the A/C on Auto, the fan slows way down and the car gets warm. Still a trace of cool air coming out of the vents though and it's cool. Switching to manual control and lowering the temp doesn't have any effect either. When I stop for about 15 minutes and come back to the car and start it, bam, wide open and fan and temp cold.
I've searched and not found nothing like this in trouble shooting or is it showing any codes.
Wondering if anyone has had this problem?
Next time I'll try just stopping and cutting the ignition off for a minute and restart to see if it resets that fast.
Is the passenger floor wet? Sounds like your AC is freezing up and letting it sit for a short time lets it thaw. Check the drain line. It is likely plugged.

Getting a lot of water under the car but have not noticed the passenger floor being wet. I'm going to pick up some gauges tomorrow to check pressures.
Anything on your key ring blocking the air intake temperature sensor to the left of the ignition switch? On AUTO it draws in interior air to sample to signal the outlet temperature and fan speed. I've also seen this sensor wire covered with lint (crud) and needing cleaning with a Q Tip. The plastic louver pops off.
Well, did get a set of gauges to put on the system to see what's happening with pressures and not what I like for sure. about 35 or so on the Low and about 310 on the high with the engine reved to 2000 rpm and around 90F temps. . Probably expansion valve trying to plug up . See no records of the A/C ever being worked on by p/o's been lucky I guess.
My '03 Chevy truck with 92K miles has had the compressor and evap line replaces in the last few years. So, guess my buddy at his shop gonna get some work after he confirms what Im thinking.
