Default LMC 5 Success

I sucessfully fixed a locked column on my 2002 MN6 with 165,000 miles. Here is the sequence of events in case it may help anybody else.
Had an incident several years ago and ordered an LMC5. Didn't install it since I had no further problems.
Had several incidents of "Pull Key" this winter when the car wasn't being driven much. Probably low battery. Always started on second try.
Column locked up several weeks ago, luckily at home in the driveway. Tried shaking the wheel and jumping the battery without success,
Ordered an unlocker. Couldn't unlock when it came Called Richard at Compliance Parts and he advised tapping on the lock motor.
A little difficult getting the column shroud apart but tapping on the motor worked and I got it unlocked.
After installing LMC5, was still getting messages and fuel cutoff. Did brown wire mod withpout success.
Triple checked that wires were in right connector slots. They were, but I found that purple wire was inserted 180 deg out and apparnely not making proper electrical contact. Instructions say to orient same as removed wire. I was basing this on locking tab on end spade, but it would have been better to base it the curl in the end spade.
Inserted purple wire correctly and everything works.
Thanks to Richard and Compliance Parts.
