Have you tried using Techron Concentrate in your gas tank? It could be that the fuel sensors have a sulfur buildup on them and needs to be cleaned in order for the gauge to work properly. It may take several bottles to work.
If that doesn’t work, you may need new fuel sending units. But try the Techron first. BTW, add the Techron when you have 1/4 tank of gas or less so that when you add gas to the tank, the Techron will be distributed to both tanks.
Great advice given here, you should always try to fill up with Chevron premium as it contains Techron. I have owned my c5 for 12 years now and have had to add the Techron concentrate only twice.
I will add 2 thoughts: Always use very Premium gas like Shell/;Chevron/Texico and even then add a bottle of Techron once every so often. I add a bottle every other tank full. No problems in 4 years of ownership.
I have had the same issue some time back with my '99, ran two bottles of Techron through, one tank after the other. Solved the problem. I now throw a bottle in every so often to keep the issue at bay. Has not happened again. I use only Shell premium, 2nd choice is Chevron premium. Good luck.

Had the exact same issue, used plenty of Techron additive and still wouldn't fix it. I guess my sending units were that corroded. Replaced the drivers side sending unit and all is good!
