Default C5 Fuel Gage

2003 55,000 mile original owner.
Back in 06, both senders ( left and right) and fuel pump replaced under mt gm extended warranty $ 200 deductible.
My gage is acting the same way for 6 months now showing one half to one quarter and I run out if gas.
ive techroned and seafoamed with a little improvement. Now my gage is not working at all. I was told when stealer repaired back in 06 it was a lifetime repair... now they say only on the pump and my pump is good but mt driver side sensor is shot.
My production month indicates my tanks do not need to be drpped to access pumps and senders... anyone have pics or how to’s. And a good source on the driver side or left sening unit with gasket etc would be helpful.
Thanks all for your thoughts.
btw, the stealer wants $750 total to repair and the part is 8 days out.supposedly they are cutting me some slack saying it normally runs about a grand...

Code is PCM P 1431 HC
I just pd the dealer $130 to order left sender and 160 for fuel strainer screen left.
I have the 3 volume gm service books but can not find anything on the fuel tank components... i would prefer doing the work myself but not without some instructions
thanks again for your help,

Well, the service mgr told me it was the left/driver side that had failed. Here are the part numbers:
10333749 Sensor $167.00
12459862 Strainer Kit $116.59
$283.59 total and they said I was getting a big discount since they replaced these parts back in 06... I just checked the part numbers on gmpartsdirect and they are $153.32 total...

Also, do we have a member that can ck the flat rate install time for these parts? My stealer says 3.5 hours. Since they are charging retail for the above parts and get them for nearly half, why wouldn't I be suspect of them gouging me on the book rate to install...
And thanks again for sticking with me.
