Default Help with troubleshooting DRLs

I have a 2000 convertible with 14,000 miles on it. Was a garage queen up until about 1 year ago, is now my DD.

Only mods are window valet, LED exterior bulbs, and hyperflash harness.

No mods have been done in the last six months. All lights were functioning properly up until about 3 days ago.

Out of the blue, I notice the following:

1. DRLs not working
2. Approach lights no longer include reverse lights, all others work
3. Parking lights, head, and fog lights work when switched on
4. When lights are switched on, left turn signal indicator light is on, steady-not flashing
5. Turning on left turn signal does nothing, no flash
6. Right turn signal functions normally, with lights on or off
7. Hazard lights function normally with lights off, do not function when lights are on
8. Reverse lights work when in reverse
9. No CELs

I don’t really care if DRLs work, but I need turn signals when headlights are on.

Any ideas on how to start troubleshooting this problem?

Try swapping for regular bulbs, Could be blown fuse etc. I'd start with the bulb,.

Possible culprits:

Bad left turn signal socket. Check the front left turn signal socket for corrosion and possible shorting of wires.

Bad MFS. No real troubleshooting available other than simply replacing it.

Approach lights and DRLs not working point to fuse 2 in the engine compartment fuse box being blown. This single fuse supplies power to reverse approach lights and DRLs.

I have read that if the emergency brake is pulled one click, it will turn off the DRL's.

I had problems when I did LED DRL's and Halo's at the same time. Put the OEM tail-lights back in and the DRL's started working. Problem was tracked to an intermittent connection on one of the rear lights...

Update, underhood fuse #2 was blown. Replaced and everything seems to be working properly now. Will keep an eye out to see if it blows again, then I’ll start testing bulbs for current draw.

Might want to check the DRL housing. OEM bulbs get hot and can melt a hole in the top of the housing. This lets in water, which can blow the bulb, the fuse, or both.
