So I was at my local stereo store trying to find a double din head unit, and since they offered free installation I was going to let them do it. However, they said I would need a $300 installation kit for it. They did say I could find one online for around $200. They said only other option was to go single din and get a install kit for $16. Anyone know if this is correct?
He's talking about the mounting kit, not the stereo itself.

That's right around the usual cost. You gotta either modify your stock trim panel, or purchase an aftermarket one from a company like Metra or the other one that sells it(I can't remember the name off the top of my head).
The other double din bezel is by Vettenuts. From what I've seen on the forum it is the way to go to install the DD radio. Do it right and you will be happy. You'll have all the modern conveniences built in like they were factory. I did a Kenwood in my car and it is so nice to have all the modern tech, bluetooth, rear camera, Nav, phone and it makes the console look more modern too.

That one looks nice, probably go that route. Thanks

I used the Vettenuts DD bezel, its a perfect fit. the brackets are ok would have liked something a little more substantial but they work.
