I have been having a hard time getting confidence on the oil fill in a new to me corvette. I had a stock 04 Z06 years ago and it always took 7 qts so recently during an oil change on the new to me 2000 FRC I added 6.25 qts thinking I could fill from there after driving a couple days if needed. Couple days later I went to check it and it was super high. Like 1 inch over full on the dipstick. I figured maybe some was left in the block during the change since the quickjack lifts completely level so I let about a qt out until the dipstick read a perfect Full. Now the problem is 2-3 drives later I have a "low oil" light on the dash with the dipstick reading a perfect Full. During this entire time (maybe 50 easy miles) the oil pressure has been 35-40 psi warm at idle getting up to 60 at cruise speeds so I don't believe I should be worried about damage.
This car has a decent bit of mods to it (ported LS6 heads, LS6 intake, small cam, headers, etc.) and I personally know the previous owner but he had the work done so he doesn't know all the details. I've read it is pretty standard to get a new dip stick set up when getting headers (I believe this car has the OBX headers). Has anyone seen this dipstick setup on a c5 LS1? I'm thinking it is a truck type set up (because of the forward bend) and isn't accurate in this application? My old Z06 had a striaght dipstick with a twist at the end of the stick. This stick is a two piece (riveted together) and smooth on the end with no twist. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Change the oil and filter. Put in 6.5 quarts of Mobile 1 5W 30. Drive around the block. Check the oil. File a scratch on your dip stick for a full mark.

Yep, use what you have, make it work. I'd do that or drill a small hole, same idea.
