I have a 2003 5.7 and I was wondering if I'd get any performance gains by installing a Throttle Body from an 2002 ZO6? There's nothing wrong with mine except the miles 160,000 and the one from the ZO6 only has 44,000. Its a real bargain that's why I'm asking. Thanks for anyone who might be able to guide me in this.
Your 2003 model already has the Z06-style intake package (LS6 intake) sans the larger opening air filter lid so there would be no advantages. At that mileage you may be better off just cleaning the throttle body since despite having the LS6 intake with "LS6" style PCV you are likely seeing some amount of carbon deposits.

Thanks for all your help and support as you educate me on the LS1. I thought I might get some gains even though they measured the same. I still might pick it up as the price is only a twenty dollar bill and its clean as a new one! My only concern is that mine might have a worn throttle shaft. I'm not looking to spend more money but as I said before I'm big on preventive maintenance. I'm going to clean mine first and check the play in the shaft and make sure that it doesn't have a worn throat where the throttle plate rest. If everything checks out ok then that's fine with me. If I find anything worn beyond it's limits I'LL be getting that other one right away. I really appreciate the advice you all are giving me. Not only am I learning about the LS1 but you are also saving me time and money!!! Thanks again!!!
A former club member had is 02 Z06 borrowed by GM when he had about 215,000 on the clock. They were amazed at how little wear on any of the engine parts. This is a car that was a daily driver (in Detroit) even in the winter, was heavily autocrossed and hundreds of HPDE laps. More than likely yours has not be driven that hard. It is more important to regularly clean the TB and MAF, oil changes and Trans and Axle fluid changes to keep the engine in top shape. Last I heard the car had about 270,000 miles on it an its 4th owner.
