Any 2002 LS1 Valve Spring Concerns
I recently purchased a 2002 with 45K in minty condition. According to the VIN it's equipped with a G or LS1 engine. Have these been as prone to valve spring breakage as the Z06's?

Thanks, guys! What I was reading about the LS6 was scary stuff and I was hoping I wouldn't have those problems. Traded my '84 C4 with 44K miles on the C5 and it sold the next day. If the C5 serves as well I'll be happy. The only problem is that it has a tape deck that I'll replace with an OEM CD player. The C5 belonged to the dealer's brother (registration still in the glove box) and was scrupulously maintained.but I bought the extended warranty anyway.

If you decide to tune for higher rpm, it would be a good idea to change the springs. the stock ones start to get valve float above 6250rpm especially once they get some mileage on them. PAC 1215 springs are the best replacement I've found for the LS1.
