Squeak on deceleration
Hi guys,
im a bit lost on what to do. I replaced PS pulley, idler, tensioner, and got a Continental belt. Car is still squeaking (most pronounced on deceleration) it’s really subtle but just enough to annoy me. I have borlas and can still hear it. Any ideas on what this could be or what I should check next? Thanks!

Bump.
corvette mechanic says my dampener is sound. I’m down to three things I suppose. PS, water pump, and alternator. Which one typically gives he most problems with squeaks? Thanks

[QUOTE=jjc508520;1597619862]And you are certain its up in the engine
im fairly certain, I’m about to get chassis ears to pinpoint this sound, any other ideas of what could be making a minor squeak sound during deceleration? Thanks

1] Torque tube possibly. Under deceleration the couplers would likely begin to loosen up as they'd start slowing down with engine braking. Most C5 owners seen worn torque tube couplers well under 50k miles.
2] Could also be end link or other suspension bushing squeak. When you decel you would readjust the load of the car from one end to the other (push the nose slightly forward).

Suspension/end links is where I was headed. When you hear the noise does the car ‘dodge’ or change attitude? I had a rear and link go and it was causing my front end to dive - although mine was not squeaking the potential was there...

No. Your flywheel and clutch are before the torque tube so in neutral it should not be in motion. If you're also stationary then load would not be applied to any suspension bushings (unless you flailing about in the car)
