Shift cable issue
I have 2001 C5 auto. I recently changed the gears ect.. now after I reassembled the shifter will shift from P to R to N to D but will not shift back up. I installed a new cable and re-installed the old cable and both are doing the same thing. I have connected the retainer brackets at the shifter and tranny. Is there another clip in the middle I am missing? Any help appreciated.

It's not that complicated. Do you have the big staples back in place at both ends so the cable housing can not move back and forth?

UM Rebel, I only seem to have 1 plastic clip which is at the rear at the trans connection. The front end of the cable where it attaches to the shifter has a rubber boot around it, I have not loosened or removed any clip from the front part of the cable. Do I have to pull back the rubber boot to find it?
