I just purchased a set of chrome repo wheels for my C5 in 17x9.5 (front) and 18x10.5 (rear).
What is the advantage of going to the 18" wheel in front?
If the profile is going to be about the size with the 18 as on the 17, then overall result is larger diameter wheel/tire? Does this just reduce the space between tire and wheel well?
How does this affect driving?
GM did it for handling geometry. Something about turn in at speed, steering effort or such. Smart people stuff. Lots of makers are doing the 1" offset 18" & 19" is my favorite. I need 18" fronts to run the big 14" Brembo brake kit. My last coupe had 18"s and handled, looked great.
