Targa Top Locating Pins Replaceable?
Hey guys. So, one of my targa top locating pins broke (snapped off when I had it off. Oops). Logically, I figured I'd just replace it. I ordered a pack of 2, so I said screw it, I'll replace both. I got a wrench & decided to do the easy one first & just R2 the good one.
NOPE. HAHAHHAHAHAHA I don't know what loctite Chevy used on these things, but oh my god. I have had more luck removing broken exhaust bolts than these stupid things. The "good side" snapped with ease as well. So now I have 2 snapped off locating pins. Fabulous. I have gone thru 6 drill bits & 3 easy outs trying to get these stupid things out. I am really thinking that they aren't removeable like they appear to be. I'm running out of options. Not sure if a welder is open on the weekends (I can't weld unfortunately) nor do I know if they can even weld a nut onto the back of these things with how much they are drilled out now. It's ridiculous. I am thinking maybe a helicoil is going to be my best bet here.
