Default LS2 stroker swap in C5 Question.

All right, I’m getting close to popping in my LS2 402 and think I have most all the little extras figured out but keep coming across little things. The engine mount bracket that attaches to the passenger side of the block is hindered by what I have to assume is the mounting fore the A/C compressor. I don’t like the idea of notching and don’t even know that doing so will allow the clearance for the compressor. So first off is anyone building an aftermarket bracket or will c6 bracket work and will I need to modify in some way my A/C. I have my old block at work and I plan on checking those dimensions and see how they’ve changed. Any input here is a predicated!

Thx R

I dropped my motor in from the top with brackets already attached for the motor mounts. I believe the ac mount was also already attached. Then once lowered in attached the ac compressor with out issues. Everything should fit with no issues. My 402 is aluminum block but I am sure there is really no difference with iron blocks. I swapped motor mounts a few months back and rebuilt ac compressor so bracket/mount had to come off again. No issues going back together.

looks like GM must have made some changes to the layout at least for the AC compressor. I looked at the compressor still in the car and all four bolts line up vertically where as on the LS2 block I have the two bottom bolts are shifted back words the engine bracket, substantially. Looks like I need c6 brackets and c6 compressor to make things work, that’s assuming all the AC fittings are the same and the pully lines up as it should? Hope to get a little more feed back before ordering the new brackets.

I notched my motor mount bracket on the passenger side works fine.

Are you running AC? If you are where you able to easily switch over to new compressor?
Thx
