Shifter close out boot question
Will the C5 shifter closeout boot (the rubber boot attached to the shift control box) fit a C6 shifter?
Picked up a C6 shifter and want to install. The boot is needed to cover the tunnel where the shifter comes up.

The C5 shifter boot is too tight to fit the C6 shifter. You will either need to get a C6 replacement boot or, using a sharp knife, trim the stock boot so the shifter will poke through.

I think the part he is referring to is the thick rubber insulator that bolts over the shifter box and covers the hole in the tunnel... the c5 and c6 shifters are very similar and interchangeable so I don't see why it wouldn't work

I have a C6 shifter in my C5. It must be able to fit because I don't remember buying anything extra to install it. Maybe I did cut it out a little, it's been awhile since installation.
