Default Shocks

I just received the C6 Z51 sway bars and rear C6 ZO6 shock and I will receive fronts next week. I researched this forum regarding installations and torque specs and found most people used McRat method installation but when I searched this method the link was no longer available. I see people used wire ties to keep shock compressed to remove and install new ones looks like that's how i will install/remove shocks. the torque spec I found are following:

Front lower mounting nuts are 21 lb/ft; upper are 19 lb/ft.

Rear lower is 107 lb/ft; uppers are 22 lb/ft.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...107-ft-lb.html

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-bulletin.html

Anytime the rear lower shock bolt is removed for service. Replace the shock attaching bolt with part number: 14048990 and Nut with part number: 11516383. The bolts are torqued to yield and are one time use only. Torque the bolt to the new torque of 107 ft lbs (145 +/- 10 N/m) as opposed to the current released torque of 162 ft lbs (220 +/- 40 N/m) in SI2000.

Says to replace the rear lower shock bolt & nut because TTY bolts. Has any one reused these bolts? Can I reuse these bolts/nuts?

Why is the torque to rear lower shock 107 Lbs and rest is 19-22 lbs?

Where can i find the McRat method link?

Last questions is how do i torque the top front shock because regular deep socket will not do the job?

I've never replaced my shock bolts... But I always use blue loctite on all my suspension hardware..
I wouldn't get too worried about the exact torque specs..
It's not a main bearing cap... Just get em installed and enjoy your new , better, ride

Actually according to the shop manual the torque on the bottom shock bolts is supposed to be 152 ft. lbs. That's not a typo. It also does not say anything about them being TTY. It says to replace them because they come with a thread sealant applied to them. I guess they don't want them coming loose. I've reused mine a few times putting blue loctite on them and have never had any problems. My info was confirmed by a friend of mine who is a GM master tech.

Did you torque the all bolts? Do I need special socket to torque the front top shock bolts?
Did you use loctite on all bolts or just the rear lower bolts since that bolt has such high torque spec. ?

Do I need special socket to get to top front shock bolts to torque it down or remove the nut?

I disagree on zip ties. I think ratchet straps are way, way easier.

You can get a set of four 1500-lb rated ratchet straps for, what, like $15? $20? And they'll come in handy for other stuff in life.

Way better than inching zip ties along. Ratchet straps let you pull down the shock in like a minute, or half that.
