I have a 2002 vert that I am thinking about supercharging. I don't like the idea of having to get a high rise hood. With so many options I would appreciate any personal experience, recommendations and things to avoid. I was looking at a ATI supercharger, but still in the initial stages.
The Vortech and ATI kits will both fit under the stock hood. The Vortech kit isn't available for the 2002 C5 yet but that should be the next one to go (it's just out for the 2002 Z06 right now). This kit comes with everything you need for the install. The ATI kit comes with everything but programming. You will need to take the PCM out of your car (located behind the passenger's side wheelwell) and send it in for programming. Gains from both kits will be in the 130-140hp range.
As mentioned by Tbyrne the ATI SCer does need programming however an alternative to shipping out your PCM is the LS1edit program that would allow you or a tuner to fine tune everything needed to make things work nicely.
