Default Sticky drivers side PopUp Headlight

I don't drive the car much a night. In fact, I haven't driven the car at night for over a year. My driver's side Pop up wont Pop up.. The passenger side is fine but nothing happens on the driver's side. When I retract the headlights, I get a gear grinding sound from the lamp that did not extend. any thoughts?

You have to rebuild your lazy bucket side. It has a plastic/composit gear that is worn down and needs to be replaced. Replace with a brass gear and you will be set. Get the rebuild kit from rodneydickman dot com. The kit comes complete with the T brace, the brass gear, glue, shims and great instructions.

Or if you want to just bolt in a rebuilt replacement motor, Amazon has them for about a hundred bucks.

Then rebuild the one you take out so you will be ready for install when the other one to fails which surely will.

My original 17 year old units are over 80K miles without a problem. If the rebuilt unit lasts that long I would be happy.

From the description of bebuilt unit:
A1 Cardone Remanufactured Headlamp Motors are engineered and remanufactured to meet or exceed OEM performance. Original design weaknesses are corrected to make a longer lasting product. Cardone engineers use the latest in technology and innovation to create high value at a low cost, providing a quality product both you and your vehicle can rely on.
