Oil Pump Alignment
How necessary is it to align the oil pump once you change it? I've been looking at this video and the process seems straight forward. I just want to know if this is crucial or something that's simply recommended. The reason I'm even asking this question is because it seems that these little strips of metal are $40 to $50. Any side-effects if you don't? Thanks!

you can buy a pack of feeler gauges from an auto parts store and unscrew the end to separate them out or if you want the specialty tools, SAC City has them for $8.50https://www.harborfreight.com/32-pie...uge-32214.html

I would buy the SAC City front cover alignment tool. It is easy to bolt it back on off center and destroy a gasket. If you haven't done it, I would also do an ATI or Powerbond balancer with an ARP bolt.

Went reading your topics, nice build 
I would only go 10% under drive on the balancer especially with your stereo if you do it. The stock unit is known to fail. BTW I am in Woodstock, GA

Ditto to what 93Polo said.
I used the feeler gauges from SacCity. You get multiple feelers in the specific sizes you need. Plus, that front seal alignment tool is very worthwhile also.
