just wondering exactly how important the gap is on the plugs I just changed mine and the ones I took out were ngk gapped at .30. This is how they looked I replaced the with AC Delco oem plugs and wires.

GM spec for ACDelco 41-110 plugs is 0.040"..
Not sure what NGK plugs you had, but 0.030" is too close and that may account for the light carbon deposits on the plug you are showing.
Torque to 11 ft/lbs.
Actually the new plugs were all gap at .035-.040made sure they were all at .040 car runs much smoother now working on the dreaded abs stalled motor it just started recently happening

My 99 idled like it had a fairly nasty cam. Pulled the plugs and found 6 had lost one of the platinum pads -- gaps of .075! New NGK iridium and the idle is much less fun.
