Here's an odd one for you. The other day the name label that is on the A/C ON/OFF button fell off (I can glue it back on) and I saw, after I had turned the car off, the A/C indicator light was still ON.
So I just went out and turned the engine ON, the indicator light went out but turned back ON, as it should, when the A/C button pushed to engage the A/C. The Main OFF button to the far left works properly.
I turn the A/C OFF before I turn the ignition off (light goes out), and then when I turn the key to OFF, the A/C indicator light turns back ON. The far left OFF button has no effect.
I could just remove the bulb since this is a parasitic load while the car is stored in the garage but I'd really like to find out what is causing this. Ideas?
I'm the OP on this. I think that all I was seeing was the timed out dash lights that stayed ON after the ignition was turned off. The car is in a dark garage so "it thought" that it was night time. The only reason why I had never noticed it before was because the A/C button covered it up. When the label fell off, the light was very visible.
This morning when I checked the car, the light was turned OFF. False alarm...Thanks, Bob
If I remember right, thehe requested torque signal isn't serial, it's just PWM. An oscilloscope should be able to show you pretty clearly whether it's good or not. A voltmeter would tell you if there's nothing at all.
