Have a 99 coupe modified. drive on the street, highway, and occasional drag strip outings.
has modded motor w/2 stage nitrous, Performa-built 4l60e tranny, w/yank 3600 stall, and DTE 3.73 rear
makes 480 rwhp and 620 rwhp. runs 11.20's on motor and 10.30's on nitrous.on drag radials w/240# behind the wheel.
While cruising at approx.70 mph on the highway at 2200rpm, after about 20 mins. the converter partially unlocks while in D4
RPM increases to approx. 2500 and stays that way until driving at a slower speed. then the converter locks again.
However, checking codes, the 1870 code appears which means a transmission component is slipping.
Any thoughts or experience? very annoying!
Have changed fluid and filter. TCC duty cycle is set to max.
forgot to add, while driving can reset the code on the DIC and the converter locks again for awhile, then unlocks.
To me this does not seem to to be a mechanical issue. Must be electrical.
Anyone with this issue and what was the remedy?
