Default I'm stoked!!

I just ordered a Vig2800 converter, ti ZO6 exhaust, and off-road X-pipe for the Vette!

I'm hoping to get low low 12's out of this setup with tires.

I also found out I have accpetable piston to valve clearance with the new heads/cam setup for my T/A so that will go back together this week and hopefully I'll be running mid 10s by Dec. :)

Today is a good day! :D

Why would the P/V clearance change from your ARE heads to your GTP heads? Let me know how your GTP heads work out, good luck with them.

And good luck with the Vette too, I have no doubt you'll be in the 12s with those mods. If you put on a better set of tires you'd probably already be in the 12s, those runflats suck for traction.

Thx guys!

awk408,

I changed the heads AND cam. The new heads are milled and set up for 11.4:1 compression. My AREs are 10.8:1. Also this new cam although smaller in dur is much higher in lift and has a much faster ramp rate so the combination is close. The guy I bought it from dyno'd 437rwhp, 419rwtq with so I'm crossin my fingers. :)

Ohh, I forgot to mention I already went 12's on Sat with DRs and deleting TQ managment. :) 12.91@107.4 1.97 60' :)

Guess I need to go change the sig.

So whats up with your set up bro? Have you sent em out yet?

Whoa, 11.4:1 CR on 91 octane? Let me know if that works, sounds alittle high. Especially in summer time around Sac. How did they get such a high CR in the first place? Are those 5.3L heads, really worked 5.7L heads, or just milled down alot?

I'm crossing my fingers for you, I hope you get those #s. With a higher lift cam and higher CR, it won't be an apples to apples comparison, but we both know 365RWHP won't cut it. That's a joke.

I'm hoping to start taking my heads off this weekend. Did you send yours back already?

Yeah, 11.4:1 is kinda high but thats what I have LS1 Edit for. I can tune it down in the summer and when I hit the track I can load my race file in about 2min and have full power. :)

The heads are 5.7L but they were welded up to resemble 5.3L heads with very small ports. They were also milled some.

I know it is not a great comparison but at this point I am so sick of having no power that I am not waiting around. I will propbably just put the AREs on my Vette.

I just got the last head off yesterday so I will be shipping them out on Monday. I should have the new stuff on and done by Sunday or so. I'll cross my fingers for you bro. :)
