Window activation noisy
My ‘03 Z06 recently, and seemingly immediately, began making “crunching” or “crackling” sounds each time I raise or lower the driver’s side window. The noise resembles what I’d expect of a bunch of broken glass inside the door. The noise stops when the window stops moving. I’m thinking this is a broken gearing problem in the regulator motor, but was hoping someone here could either confirm this diagnosis, or offer a reasonable alternative. T.I.A.

I just ordered the drivers side AC Delco on Amazon. It appears as though the passenger side requires the new weather pack connector but the drivers side does not for some reason. I get the part tomorrow. I’ll let you know what I find.

Are you changing it yourself? I have everything disassembled but am having a hell of a time getting the glass out despite loosening the clamps. Going to wait until I get the part before I try again.

I replaced both regulators on my 04 CE about 2 years ago. Pretty easy job after you watch the videos. Here's one
I used the el cheapo regulators off eBay.

I watched your YouTube video. Wish you would ya r given more detail how you got the glass out and what adjustments you made after installation so the glass lines up properly. These seem to be the main issues.

As far a lining up. I marked on the glass with a sharpie where it was in old regulator and put it back in same place on new ones.
Like I said, no problems.
BTW that was not my video. Just one I found. There are several others out on youtube.

Thanks. Got everything out back together. Did you have any issues with the glass rubbing slightly. I can hear it touching something on the way down. I tried tweaking the two bottom adjustments tilting the glass in or out slightly but it still sounds like it’s rubbing. Not sure if putting he door panel back on will fix the issue.
