Happy Thanksgiving to the forum. I have an issue with my car starting-initial idle. Occasionally my car will struggle to start. When this occurs i can smell a strong gas smell as if a rich air-fuel mixture. Then the car may idle slow and almost die unless I give it a little pedal. No DTC Codes located. One time a while ago I got a MAFS Code when travelling at high speed but nothing now. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Happy Thankgiving !!...Ahhh, Port Charlotte...beautiful area of FLA to retire !!...I'll be seeing you in a few years...LOL !!!....well, without throwing on a scan tool on it it's going to be a little hard to diagnose....would be nice to look at your fuel trims and O2 sensor activity and some other important data PIDS...if it is running rich can be caused by a bunch of things...dirty MAF sensor (over reporting airflow...the fuel trims will be negative), an injector stuck open...listen if your can hear your injectors "clicking" while it's running (use a long screwdriver to listen), O2 sensors don't affect "fueling strategy" until the engine is in "closed loop" ...usually takes about a minute or so but if the sensor is reporting "RICH" (your fuel smell) above 450mv it would start "taking away" fuel resulting in a rough idle...you can try cleaning your MAF sensor, make sure your air filter (OEM or CAI) is clean and listen for those injectors clicking away !!
