I have a 1998 corvette, and cant get my headlamps to go down, I have looked at the fuse box, but nothing looked wrong. I'm not sure exactly what I supposed to be looking for. I dont know much about cars but eager to learn how to fix things myself and save money!
Do the lights themselves turn off when you turn the headlight stalk to the off position? If so and the headlamps remain up, then my immediate guess is the multi-function switch is failing. Multi-function switch issues cause a lot of headlight headaches on C5s due to the contacts inside of the switch wearing out.
Sounds like the headlight motors. You can take the insides out and turn them 180 degrees. You should be able to manually close them by turning the **** on the top of the motor. You can also replace the motors easily.

I doubt if both motors would fail at exactly the same time. Check the other things before replacing motors.

The lights dont come back up when I lower them manually. Does anyone know how I could test if the chip is good for the switch? Cause I took it out and looked at it, and it looked fine.
