If we are talking about a modern fuel injected car, it's difficult if not impossible to "flood it". On late model Vettes, there is no mechanical link between the gas pedal and fuel intake. I believe that the Corvette switched to Tuned Port Injection in 1985 so you might have another problem other than a flooded engine.
