on my 2000 convertible. Was thinking it may be a blown fuse, but cannot find any fuse associated with the H/U display
listed in the owners guide. Does anyone know where/which fuse this may be?
thanks
There is no fuse for the HUD, it is powered from the IPC. Check the dimmer for the HUD, if it is all the way down you wont see anything from it.
What actually may be the issue is a pivot pin may have broken dropping the angel of the mirror so the display cant be seen. If you look into the windshield from the outside into the projector opening, the side closest to the A pillar, you should see a green glow. This is where the data display is. If you don't see a glow then the projector is dead.
I just did a repair to a HUD that had the pin break. It was a molded plastic part. I drilled out the spot where the pin went and replaced it with a small screw. Works great now. It took a bit to get it all lined up.
You will need to pull the dash pad out to remove the projector for the repair.
Thanks Gary, first thing I checked was the dimmer control. I checked for a green glow in the projection opening, but nadda - so I guess it died. Probably not a cheap item to repair.
Thanks for the help
