Torque management question

Nice car BTW.
My times in my sig are with just an airfilter and no TQ managment so yours should be able to do it also or better. :)
There is much more to TQ managment but it doesn't really mater. All you wanna do is get rid of it right? ;)
I here the Powerloader by Steve Cole gets rid of it but I have no first hand knowledge so I won't comment. Ls1 Edit CAN get rid of it but it will take a little searching to find all the spots to eliminate it. See TQ managment resides in a number of diffferent functions so to effectivly get rid of it you have to change a few different settings. I think I have gotten all of them out of both my cars as they shift very firm now and the Vette actually tries to throw the car forwrd durring a shift rather than falling on it's face like it used to.
You can also get custom programing to elimiate it through Ed Wright or something but I would skip all that until you get more mods.
I personally like LS1 Edit because I can tune it any way I want, any time I want and with a little learning it is quite easy to make changes. I can change my timing according to the type of gas I use (pump or race), or for nitrous runs or even for running MAX N/A runs where the car is tuned to the raged edge (have not done this yet but plan on it) ;) Shift points, fan settings, rev limits, Codes, etc. etc.
Now in theory, yes deleting TQ managment CAN hurt your tranny in the long run, if it couldn't then why would GM have put it there? It is to save your clutch packs and such. BUT not many people have had direct failures because of it that we know of.
Deleting TQ Managament will not net you a ton of HP or help you a ton in the 1/4 until you're making alot more HP than stock but if you plan on buying any kind of PCM upgrade for your car then LS1 Edit would be a good choice if you are somewhat computer savy. I have it on 2 cars now and it is WAY better than a Hypertech unit or Powerloader if you like to tweak things and for $550 it is worth it's weight in gold to me.
Not sure if any of this rambling helps but this is my experience with it. If you have any questions lemme know. If you decide to get LS1 Edit, there is a wealth of knowledge on LS1Tech.com in the Computer/Diagnostic forum http://www.ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/u...3;DaysPrune=20 Just do searches. There is also a site put up by a member there dedicated to LS1 Edit and it's basic programing.
Ohh, here is a pic of my car. Dejavu huh? ;)

That is one sweet looking ride...although I'll admit that I'm a bit biased!!
Again, thanks for the boatload of information. I really, really appreciate it!!!

If you end up buying LS1 Edit shoot me an email and I can walk you through some of the basic stuff and direct you to the hard core info that gets me all confused. ;)
