C5 Shifting issues 98 Automatic HELLLLP !
I had some modifications done on my 98 conv auto car by the Vette Drs on LI (great group of guys) had a 342 rear put in, a shift kit and a 2400 rpm torque converter. heres my problem when i drop the shifter into 1st and slam the pedal to the floor the car starts out in 2nd gear if i ease off the gas the car will down shift into 1st gear if i shift into drive(3rd) and do the same thing the car starts out in 1st and will rev to maximun limits before shifting all the gears. why cant i get the tranny to hold 1st hear when i manually start out in 1st ?

Sounds like there may be a problem with your valve body or shift kit, Cartek installed my 3.42s and PT2400 and I have been very happy with it. I'd suggest you give Carmen a call over at the Vette Drs and see what he thinks first, before looking for answers here. :cheers:
