I have a 1999 c5 with a ls6 dorman intake manifold. For some reason the MAP sensors keep breaking during tuning and my tuner told me to get rid of the dorman one which came on the car when I bought it and get an OEM LS6 manifold or go back to the ls1 manifold. Any ideas why these sensors keep breaking? is it due to the bad design of the dorman one?
Ive been doing a lot of research and can't find anyone that's had this problem with the Dorman intake manifold. Im kinda at a loss because idk if its the manifold or something else breaking these MAP sensors

ok so it only sees vacuum, if I had to guess it's probably snapping off where it plugs into the intake... make sure it isn't contacting the cowl, if it is and the motor moves that would break it like you are describing
There is a clearance issue on the rear of the Dorman Manifold where the MAP sensor is mounted .. Not enough room between it and the firewall.
I relocated it to the front of the intake on top- there is a plug that can be removed and used for the MAP. It's on top downstream of the
throttle body.. I found a "kit" by searching LS1.com... I guess alot of camaros do this for some reason.
The company I bought it from If I remember was affiliated with WS6.com... Up in Iowa
Once I got ahold of them, they shipped it out right away.. I think it was about $75 if I remember
Good Luck !!
