Hey guys. I just picked up a 1999 FRC roller from Chicago Friday evening. I have been going through it, doing some cleaning and checking over systems before putting the new engine in it. Everything seems to function as it should except some things on the dash, there is no door dinger/cel buzzer, and the key fob (which may be a dead battery). The ipc works with the exception of the back lighting and the DIC center flickers from bright to dim very erratically. Only 2 of the DIC buttons illuminate, and none of the buttons function all the error messages scroll across the screen but I can not cycle or clear them obviously since I have no button response. I have been sitting here going through posts and doing research all night and am coming to the conclusion that it may be a dieing button pack or cluster. But I wanted to get some feedback before I pull the trigger on a new cluster and button pack.

My guess is that you have grounding issues. You mention that your car is a "roller" so I assume that the engine is out/missing. It is pretty logical that your DIC is wonky as it is looking to pull information from the (non existent) engine and make readings from missing sensor input. It is tempting to isolate the DIC as faulty but until you close all the electrical loops it will be anyone's guess.
Why did the engine get pulled in the first place? Does that have any relation to the electrical problems?
