Default Quick ac charge question, a bit time sensitve

I replaced a leaky compressor, expansion valve and drier. I then vacuumed it down to 320 microns. It held a vacuum. I have 9.5oz of oil in as designed. So I fed in the first 280g of refrigerant as a liquid and it went fine. I then started the car and compressor ran, great. As i started to feed in refrigerant as a gas i got about 100g a a gas but I've got to a point where it will NOT take any more (well .1g/sec right now so pretty much non existent suction). Pressures are 24/175 with a center temp 44.5 deg. It's only 70deg in my garage. I'm using 12oz cans and I've got it on a scale so I can't easily warm the can and still measure what i'm putting in.

Right this second I'm heating the can in a bucket of hot water, drying and putting it back on the scale and i'll see how that does.

It takes a total of 680g (24 oz) and I'm a bit above half way. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Dave

That seems to me to be too much oil for a compressor replacement job...
Also, You won't get the MAX amount of freon in it at 70* ambient temps.. You'll need to see closer to 80*..
But, it could also be that you have too much oil.
If you are getting vent temps of 44* .. Leave IT... Recheck when it warms up...

Sorry I should have elaborated. I flushed the entire system of all oil. So the service manual calls for 9.5 oz. I forget exact figures but it was something like 2.5oz in the compressor, 3 oz. in the drier, a few oz. in the condenser, etc.

Little update. The hot water helped. I think the issues were complicated by the little 12oz cans. As they got empty they just were slow to introduce refrigerant. I ended up using 3 cans and probably wasting a good few oz. of it but I didn't want to wait forever. Center vent is now at 35.1F @1500 RPMS so I'll take that. Pressures seem good. Before I revved it it was at 25/150 @70deg and 20%RH but after I revved it I noticed the high side go down to 110psi. I'm assuming the compressor cycles on/off based on need? The clutch was spinning so perhaps the orifice valve is controlling that?

I did pretty much exact same refilling procedure as you, with the hot water and scale etc.... I found the pressures to be all over the place and the service manual numbers to be difficult to actually compare to. I just did it based on weight and it's been great for a few years now.

Thanks guys. If anyone w/ more knowledge could help me understand why the pressure would drop to 110 on the high side w/ compressor still running and ac vent STILL at 37deg? I assume it is moderating pressure somewhere based on demand I just want to understand bit more as to how.
