Comand center buttons ??
On the 1997 there are 5/6 buttons on dash and when they are pushed you can read what they bring up down in the window in the instrument panel. When I push mine nothing happens. I can not check fuel, mileage, tire pressure or any thing else. Does any one have a idea on what is going on and is it tied in with the AC/HEAT control unite.

For future reference, the buttons you are asking about are called DIC (Driver Information Center) buttons. There is likely something going on with the instrument cluster. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
There is no correlation between the DIC buttons and the HVAC unit. What is happening with the HVAC unit; dim display?

If you are a DIYer...I would put in another DIC switch like this -

I’ve removed the gauge cluster a few times. Once to replace the DIC switch and 2 other times to change out lights behind the DIC and HUD to red LEDs. It’s not hard, just time consuming. A 2/5 difficulty level IMO. Good luck.
