My 2000 C5 came with two key fob's but one of them appears to keep losing memory. I've replaced the battery and programmed it through the DIC on screen menu's, and it works for a few days and then none of the buttons will work (lock/unlock, etc.)

Any help would be appreciated

This is gonna be a dumb question but i have to ask.
Does both FOBS have the same part # and are they labeled 1 & 2 ?
A little research and it looks like after 2001 the FOBs were numbered #1 and #2. (Based on photos of the backs of pre owned 2001- 2004 FOBs for sale on the infamous auction site. Other members will likely chime in to confirm.
The 99's didn't have numbers. Well mine didn't, nor both of my brothers 99s didn't.

My 98 FOB keeps loosing memory also. To reset it, I just aim it at the passenger footwell and hold both buttons down for 15 seconds or more, The horn will beep and its reset til next time. I have no idea what causes it to loose memory. Good car battery and a good fob battery. Wore out maybe???
There is a thread on this forum that explains a cold solder joint on a couple of the chips in the fob . If you hit them with a soldering iron and remelt
the solder it will retain it's memory again
I have a '98 and upgraded the receiver to a 2003. I then bought 2 new remotes on Ebay for $10.00. They were programmed and have worked flawlessly for over a year.

GOOD LUCK!
Yeap I did this too. Got tired of the short range and I also tried the re solder and it still would lose memory
