You need to flash the PCM to get them to come on sooner. Factory runs way too hot when you're at a standstill. Also pop the plastic upper radiator support off and have a look inside, you probably have 10+ years of dirt, grass, and crap caked in there. Get that out and it'll run much cooler.
You do not want to wire the fans to run on high all the time especially when you are on the highway, because they will impede air flow and thus you will get less cooling. As suggested check your AC condenser and radiator for debris caught in the fins, air passages.
Stock C5 radiator settings are :
#1 fan on at 226 off at 219
#2 fan on at 235 off at 227
PLUS # 1 fan will turn OFF at 35 MPH or higher
The stock thermostat is a 195*
Turning them ON all the time is not the answer !!
We run 700-800 HP corvettes and even stock corvettes with these simple changes and the cooling is greatly increased
1st install a 160* thermo Not the 180 But don't worry it will never run that cold
2nd set the fan settings as such:
#1 on at 204 off at 196
#2 on at 210 off at 205
#3 set the MPH where the #1 fan turns OFF up to like 55-60 MPH
these simple tuning setting with the lower thermostat is all you need to do
PS make sure the radiator is not clogged inside and has fresh fluid as well as making sure the front of the radiator is not plugged full of bugs and weeds !!
