Going to have a lifter swap done soon and I am torn between which head bolts to get. I know ARP studs are where it’s at but I don’t plan on having the heads off again anytime soon and they are pricey so I was trying to decide between ARP bolts or the Chevrolet performance bolts. The ARP are more than double the price and and like I said I don’t plan on having the heads off again so would you guys just put a new set of factory bolts back in or pay the extra and get the ARP? I just don’t really see the point of going with the ARP’s, unless you guys think it would be worth it.
GM ... the procedure is MORE important than your decision on which fastners your going to use...
You can use ARP gold plated, titanium, aero space grade fastners, but if you don't follow protocol for replacing the factory bolts your going to have issues...

Absolutley, I’m well aware of that... that’s why I’m having a local racing shop do the procedure for me. They have a good reputation and work mostly on LS cars so I’m taking it there. So your suggestion on the bolts are to go with the GM’s?

That's what I'd do, unless I was planning on upgrades in the future like forced induction...
Well, I wasn't planning on pulling my heads off again either, until cylinder #7 piston cracked.... In which case, having the ARP was nice. I don't think you can really go wrong either way. Obviously you know my choice, spend a little extra for ARP while it's apart, just in case.

in your case the gm bolts will be fine, sure if you have the extra cash to spend the arp bolts or studs are definitely better but really not necessary for your application in my opinion
I have a buddy that has a set of ARP head bolts for sale. I used them for about 15K miles and upgraded my engine so sold him the bolts. He is going another direction and is not going to use them now. He would probably part with them for $100 - 125 range I believe.
