So I have a boosted c5, and I don’t very much about mechanics or cars so I’m turning the pros here. I’m having to cycle my ignition 5-10 times before the car will start. It’s been tuned and was tested today at the dyno for safety. It makes 526 rwhp. I read on here it could be the fuel filter/regulator, possibly the check valve, and /or the fuel pump(s). My question is what is a good aftermarket pump(s) that will efficiently fuel this car? It makes 9.8 psi, and has a boost pump
Do you hear the pump turning on when you turn the key? Can turn to on position without cranking it. Probably not the pump if its cycling....do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Did you get q new fuel pump or BAP when you did the SC install..
It primes everytime I turn the key and it holds 50psi at start and around 58psi while driving. I bought the car built professionally here where I live. It’s annoying more than anything but being boosted I want to make sure it doesn’t starve for fuel

I bought this way and had one of our known tuners run the dyno and test for safety. He said it’s a very safe tune. That being said he doesn’t tune many LS cars as he is a mustang guy, but he is incredibly knowledgeable and honest. I have an appointment to change the fuel filter/regulator to see if it helps. Can’t hurt. If that doesn’t fix it, I’m going to take it the most reputable LS tuner I know around here.

I have a problem similar to yours. Sometimes have to cycle the pump several times to start the car. I'm thinking check valve or regulator.
What year is your car? My understanding is if it's a late 2003 or 2004, you have to drop the left tank to replace the pump, filter, or regulator, which is
a 8-12 hour labor job.
Please post your results if you get the fuel filter/regulator job done.
Hope it fixes your problem.
Mine is a 1999. I’ve read where the filter/regulator is located on the rear subframe and then some have said it’s in the tank like you suggested. It’s getting done regardless and I will let you know if it fixes it.
Yes, I've heard the earlier models are easier to service. I had a supercharged 2001 years ago, and never had problems with it. It was built already, properly.
Between the headlight problem I had, and the fuel tanks, that's 2 needlessly overcomplicated systems in this car. Hope I don't find more.
I hope you really enjoy your boosted car when it's running right, I sure did.
Thanks.
I thoroughly enjoy it now. Took it to the dyno and it made impressive numbers. 526/476 whp on a mustang dyno. The car moves out but it’s just annoying.
