Default Driveshaft options/experiences... mine is tweaked.

I've got what i think is a pretty bad driveshaft vibration. All things considered, whats the best option in terms of value? I see the carbon shaft, should that be the one to look at, or am i ok with a 3" aluminum? PST vs DSS? ect. I put the new trans in about 2 weeks ago, while also totally rebuilding the tq tube. At that point i did notice the plastic center ring was rubbed off on one side, this should have told me i had an issue, but i overlooked it and am just now realizing the issue.... school me here. Street car.

I would check runout on all three shafts before buying any new parts. If you have some v blocks and dial indicators you check it yourself or take it to a driveline shop. I would also check to torque tube bearing support bores for being hallowed out. Plus inspect the o-ring on the forward support for wear or being missing. It normal to have some wear on plastic ring as long it’s not too excessive. My was worn down about 1/16” on one side. My driveline vibrations was really bad. My first thought was torque tube but my issue was further downstream at rear end transmission and differential.

Solid info, thank you. After the run out check you determined you needed the rear section that splines onto the trans? And if so, where did you find that part by itself?

If you need GM parts, I usually used GM Parts Giant website. Their parts breakdown / list usually alway has GM part numbers... then I shop around online using GM part # for the best prices including shipping cost. GM Parts Giant prices are not bad and usually ships quick from my past experiences.

T56 Transmission parts I usually use The Gear Box website or Tick.

Are you sure the driveshaft is warped? Damage to the center rubber in not uncommon.

How much power are you making and are you seeing any track time with the car?

If your car is a '97-00, an upgrade to a complete 12mm assembly is always a good idea. However, you are likely looking at getting one from a Corvette salvage company, and I would open up the torque tube and inspect the bearings and couplers.
