I had the one click no start problem the other night. Ordered a used starter from vettenuts. As I’m about to install the “newer” unit, I’m thinking to myself, maybe I should just order a new unit to give the piece of mind. Nah, just install this one.
Bolt it up, torque the bolts, start to wire up the solenoid and put the 2 nuts back on and tighten them.....snap! 😕
So, do I just go and purchase a new one, or look to replace just the solenoid?
The starter in the bottom of that picture looks like it could be new or slightly used. If it were my car I would replace the solonoid . I would not use any parts of the top starter

Got the car back together Monday night, and it started right up. But had an exhaust leak, so dealt with that last night. Finally got to drive the car today to work. Feels so good going from a 1.6L 85hp suzuki sidekick box to the vette.
