Is there any way to check which code I got a after installing FLP headers last night. I took it for a long drive, and everything was fine, then POW, it just came on out ot the blue. I don't have any scan tools, or stuff like that, but can you push any buttons on the DIC to display them?
Thanks for the link. The headers are awesome, and I was very proud to have done my own mod when I was through, but there were several times during the install that i told my wife.........."I should've let FLP put them on." Now looking back, it wasn't so bad. I'm puzzled too, but when I get a list of the codes, I'll post them.
Alan, it seems that the codes that it was throwing were from the battery being disconnected. I think that it has something to do with the Top Down Tech window controller, but not really sure. The codes were: 2282, 2283,2284,2285,1064,1000.
The 2282-2285 are battery faults
The 1064 is a seat control module
1000 is loss of communication.
So, luckily, it has nothing to do with the FLP's. Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.
Rob,
Those do sound like codes from low voltage or a battery disconnect. That's a relief. I too plan on installing myself so it's good to hear that it is not too much of a PITA. I assume you installed the cats. Do you notice any performance gains?
Alan
I had low voltage codes(they were history, H, codes) , and erased them. The one that I have now is an 0137C (current code) that came on after installing FLP headers. That code is for a heated 02 sensor circuit low voltage bank sensor 2-b. I have no idea what this means, other than I know it has to do with the 02 sensor. There are 2 sets of 02 sensors in the headers, one in the tubes, and one before the cats. Which one is it, and what does that code mean?
As far as the headers, they are beautiful, and yes they definitely add to the old SOTP meter. I don't know if it was the colder weather here (which definitely helps, as it was in the 40's), or the headers, but from a 20mph roll, with T/C off, it layed down between 5-10 feet of rubber. NEVER did that before, I was pleasantly surprised, until it popped a code light. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
Rob - I am emailing you a scanned page from my service manual describing the code. Basically this code sets when the H02S voltage is low (lean) for more than 396 seconds. It takes 3 in range start cycles to clear the MIL once it is set. Exhaust leaks are one of the possible causes that you may want to look at first. Do you have the cats installed?
Alan
Yes, the cats are on. I did have a small exhaust leak from the AIR tube on the drivers side, but since have fixed it. I'll have to re-check everything, and maybe that will help. Thanks for all of your help. By the way, nice choice of car colors. :D
