Default Snarling/Snoring V8?

Hey guys,

I happen to notice now a curious sound my engine makes under decel during that moment you clutch-in and upshift in high RPMs. Right at the moment the engine load is relieved during the upshift and RPMs drop, engine does this snarling/snoring sound. Wanted to know how many people experience this with their LS's. I only notice now that it's cammed and has long tube headers. I'll later upload a onboard video of a pull demonstrating this.

Pretty sure it's normal. Ive heard the same noises from track videos where mic's are mounted near the exhaust. The moment of decel causes kind of a floppy/snory kind of sound, even for an LS7.

Wow you’re right, I guess I just never noticed before. A quick YouTube search was all it took.

Skip to the last minute of this video and you will hear that noise. I like it. Just means some power has been made.

I just do not get spending money, whether vast sums or less, for vehicles that just do not look as good.

I've never been all about looks. If that's your thing, good on you. I drive my cars. That being said, none of my cars are junk.

I've come to the conclusion that you must have been high or drunk when you posted that. Or just an idiot.

Most all the times when I tune a cammed LS engine I always DELETE the DFCO system
"deceleration fuel cutoff " When the DFCO is activated on decel it shuts the fuel OFF and creates either a popping exhaust sound or a gurgling sound Deleting DFCO allows small amounts of fueling at decel and usually cleans up that annoying noise
ALSO Does your car have the STOCK H-Pipe? If so changing it over to an X-pipe also changes the decel sound as the stock H pipe only has about a 3/4" hole between left and right sides An X pipe is more open between left and right and the balance of exhaust equalizes better again eliminating any drone or "motor boat" gurgle Plus it can add 2-5 HP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure about the OP but I am making the switch to an X pipe this weekend.
