Hi , I don’t post much , I don’t have problems , BUT yesterday I left lights on , needed a jump to start . Today , went out , came back and car won’t start , electrics work , but nothing when I turn key to start , no sound no nothing . But it dings and radio works even with key out . Ignition switch ?
IMHO, sounds like the battery to me. If you have a charger, fully charge the battery and try again. If still no start after charging, take it to one of auto stores for testing.
As others have mentioned it's always a good idea to have your battery load tested first for any starting malfunctions and go from there. Full charge around 12.66 volts. If you might think it's an ignition switch and you have and know how do use a multimeter connect the red lead to battery positive and the black lead to one of two test points on the CRK fuse #14 (IP Fusebox) and then PCM fuse #16 (underhood fusebox)....try to start the car and read what the multimeter reads on each fuse...you will be measuring the "voltage drop" across the ignition switch...should not be more a few tenths of a volt !!
