Had the infamous sudden overheating problem on my 2004 Vert. (Stock LS1, 100,400 miles).
Bad thermostat (of course) but also some blockage at the radiator. The mechanic called them “nipples” I assume the smaller hose connections. Cost me over $400.
I could have have done the job in a couple hours but I couldn’t drive the car home. I limped to the shop with the gauge pegged. No damage to heads or head gasket. Very minor blow by on test but pretty normal for 100k milee.
if you can’t find the cause of overheating, check the nipples!
Not to make light of this:
I fear I need a more descriptive definition of the problem area. I’m not aware of anything ‘nipple- ish’ associated with the cooling system. Can you elaborate?
