PCM Code C1281 What's the fix?
"Steering / Active Handling Sensors Uncorrelated"
Can Anyone shed light on this. Re-occurs whenever I move the car.
98 MN6 Thanks for any input! :seeya
1. I installed the Hurst shifter, but then I drove the car many times without a code. The traction control button is disconnected then reconnected in the process.
2. I received a new low profile floor jack and I tested it a few times. I jacked up the front right using the C5 jacking pad. I recall I did this with the car's alarm set....and it did not go off! Don't tell the wheel thieves! This was in the middle of the week. Then I drive the car Saturday and get this code every time I drive it!? Drives fine, traction control switch indicates its working. Car has never displayed a code before except those associated with disconnecting the battery which happened a few winters ago.
3. Note Saturday was the coldest day we have had here this year.
Ideas?
I too had the very same code that you have seen. I had a it few times and in researching it I did as the service manual suggests and that is to check connectors associated with the circuit. After reseating the large connector at the Electronic Brake Control Moudle (EBCM) my codes stopped happening. The EBCM on my car was located at the front center of the engine between the water pump and the radiator down low on top of the cross member. The connector seems to be of high quality and I really questioned if that had anyting to do with it but the codes stopped. It could be a matter of temperature cycleing. Be sure to clear the codes. Good luck. Jer I forgot to mention my car is a '98 coupe MN6 now with 47,000 miles of smiles. :D
