I want to remove sensors off of stock rims and put them on z06 rims. how hard to remove them off the rims? do i need to take the valve stem (whole thing?) and put them on the new rims too or new rims comes with it?
Thanks!
On my '99, as is all I believe, the valve stem is part of the sensor. A metal nut screws onto the valve stem from the outside of the wheel after inserting the sensor from the inside of the wheel. I would highly doubt that your new wheels come with sensors.
There are two different sensors depending on what model you have from '97 to '02 but I was reading last night that the design, at least for the "o-ring" seal has changed for '03 cars. Now uses a flat type rubber seal instead of the round o-rings.
If the sensors cannot be mounted to your new wheels you can always band them to the inside of the rim and use them like that (with a conventional rubber valve stem).
